NO ONE LEFT BEHIND
Please watch this video to learn more about the project and to hear from our three project partners.
No One Left Behind: working together towards a poverty-free York is a new initiative recently launched by One Voice York, with the aim of contributing to a significant reduction of all forms of poverty in York over the next 10 years by harnessing the resources, volunteers and ministries of local churches and Christian charities. As churches together we’ve embarked on this as we want to play our part alongside civic authorities and voluntary sector organisations in tackling poverty and its root causes. The project is a partnership between One Voice York, Gather Movement (the network of church unity networks in the UK), and the national charity Christians Against Poverty (CAP).
In 2025, we are laying the foundations for the project, working with Gather Movement to learn more about poverty in York, and about the social and economic development of the city through a Place Review called ‘Understanding York’, led by Dr Paul Hildreth.
We’re also carrying out work to map all the social action and community work done by churches and faith organisations across York, to build up a picture of the support already being offered.
Alongside this, we’re delighted that CAP will be offering their ‘Church and Community Transformation (CCT) course in York. Through 10 transformative sessions designed specifically for local church leaders — this course will equip and inspire your team to more deeply understand the spiritual and social heartbeat of your local area, and to respond with clarity, compassion, and conviction.
More information on No One Left Behind will be coming soon.
