Teen Challenge UK 25th Anniversary Tour
On Wednesday 13th May at 7.30pm One Voice hosted the Teen Challenge UK 25th Anniversary Tour at Clifton Parish Church.
The evening was introduced by OVY joint-chairs David Casswell & Graham Hutchinson.
The girl band “Living Hope” was made up of women who have been through the Teen challenge programme at Hope House in Wales and have overcome addiction.
In between songs they told of their experiences of stealing and prostitution to fund their drug habits. Some had come from difficult backgrounds and some from good families, but all had a wonderful story to tell how they had found Jesus through Teen Challenge and become free of their addictions.

The songs from the band were a professional performance and challenging to the audience.
A DVD presentation showed lives changed over the last 25 years including interviews with some of the first people helped – who are still ‘clean’ and following Jesus.
Jacqui Strothoff from the USA, herself a product of TC reminded us that if we hadn’t been crack addicts or prostitutes that we should be grateful and PRAISE GOD! She also told us that we might not all have been addicted to drugs but we have all been slaves to sin.
Her message had three main points taken from the stories of Jairus’ daughter and the woman subject to bleeding from Mark chapter 5:
- Ask God for a miracle – we have to ask!
- Miracles are there to be taken – we must go for it!
- Miracles are yours to give – freely you have received, freely give!

Afterwards there was a good response of people seeking personal ministry.
We thank God for the ongoing ministry of Teen Challenge.
